Seventy of Hanson’s oil paintings, mostly done on location, are filled with energy and life and show the sites in their present day condition. Quotes from the Lewis and Clark journals give insight to what they were seeing, doing and feeling in the areas of these sites. Commentary by the author ties together the present day views and the historical quotes. Maps and driving directions allow the viewer to orient themselves to the sites and explore on their own.
